01 Overview

About Answerly

Answerly is a subscription AI writing SaaS for people who answer on Quora for a living: consultants, founders and agency teams. The writer pastes their own draft. Answerly restructures it so the main point comes first, then checks the result against Quora's published rules. It never adds a fact the writer did not write.

We built the full product: the rewrite tool, the policy check, rewrite history, voice calibration, a team workspace, Stripe billing and a public API. A clear, well-structured answer also tends to get picked up beyond Quora, in Google, People Also Ask and AI answers like ChatGPT and Perplexity, so structure matters twice.

02 The challenge

What Answerly needed to solve

Experts write the way they talk. Their knowledge is real, but the structure of a typical draft works against them on Quora.

  1. The best fact often sits in the fourth paragraph while the opening is just a warm-up, so readers leave before the point arrives.

  2. Tools that write answers from scratch already exist, but readers spot generic AI text and the claims in it belong to nobody.

  3. A casual mention of the writer's own company can trip a moderator and get the answer collapsed for breaking the rules.

  4. Agency and company teams had no way to share voice, vocabulary and disclosure standards across everyone who writes.

  5. The product had to restructure without inventing, serve different goals and show every change it made so writers could trust it.

03 What we built

How we built Answerly

We built a web app where a writer pastes a draft, picks a goal and gets back a restructured answer next to the original, with every change explained and checked against Quora's policies.

  • Four rewrite modes

Writers choose Quick Expert, SEO Optimised, Authority Builder or Clarify and Clean. Each mode shapes the same draft for a different goal, from putting the direct answer first to ranking in search results.

  • Before and after diff

The result appears beside the original, with each sentence marked as unchanged, restructured or new and given a one-line reason. Writers can see exactly what moved and why before they post.

  • Quora policy check

A separate check flags any text that matches one of Quora's published collapse reasons. Writers catch rule problems before a moderator does.

  • Guardrail modules

Small rule modules reject unreadable drafts and strip self-promotion the writer never wrote. The output stays grounded in the writer's own words and claims.

  • Voice calibration

Writers paste three of their best Quora answers and Answerly extracts their style. Future rewrites sound like the writer, not like a generic AI.

  • Team workspace

Team owners add or remove members, set a shared niche vocabulary and define brand settings for voice, disclosure and terms. Every member's rewrites follow the same standards.

  • History and insights

Every rewrite is saved to history, and members can opt in to report results from saved rewrites. The team sees performance insights built from those voluntary reports.

  • Billing and public API

Stripe handles checkout and the customer portal across three plans. Teams can call the rewrite engine through an API, with keys stored as hashes and shown only by prefix.
